Joey Friend is a Managing Member and advisor with Barnes Pettey Financial Advisors. A Memphis native, Joey earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi in 2009 and completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Memphis in 2010.

Since beginning his career as an advisor in 2011, Joey has been committed to helping individuals and families navigate the financial decisions that accompany every stage of life. As a member of the Barnes Pettey Investment Committee, he plays an active role in the firm's investment research, portfolio construction, and ongoing due diligence process.

Joey believes successful financial planning extends well beyond investments. He works closely with clients to develop comprehensive strategies that integrate retirement planning, investment management, tax planning, estate planning, risk management, and other key aspects of their financial lives. His goal is to build lasting relationships while providing thoughtful guidance that helps clients pursue their financial objectives with confidence.

Joey and his wife, Mary Morgan, are the proud parents of their son, Thomas. They are members of Second Presbyterian Church. In his free time, Joey enjoys traveling, playing golf, attending sporting events, and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife especially enjoy returning to Oxford to cheer on their alma mater, Ole Miss.
